Not quite in scope for this site, but interesting nonetheless, the story of Heraclius, Patriarch of Jerusalem around 1180,, who had a mistress Pasque. At a meeting of the High Court a messenger burst in with news for the Patriarch. Heraclius invited him to tell the assembled dignitaries his news. ‘The Lady Pasque has given birth to a daughter’.
